Bikaner Fort, also known as Junagarh Fort, is a majestic fort located in the city of Bikaner, Rajasthan. Built between 1589 and 1594 by Raja Rai Singh, the sixth ruler of Bikaner, under the guidance of Mughal Emperor Akbar, the fort is unique as it stands on the plains rather than a hilltop. It covers over 5 hectares and features strong walls with 37 bastions and seven gates, surrounded historically by a wide moat.
The fort complex houses several palaces such as Anup Mahal, Phool Mahal, and Chandra Mahal, known for their intricate woodwork, frescoes, mirror-inlaid ceilings, and Rajasthani-style decorations.
