Bobbili Fort, located in Vizianagaram district of Andhra Pradesh, was constructed in the mid-19th century by Chinna Ranga Rao, whose family descended from the original rulers of Bobbili. The fort stands as a symbol of the rich history and valor of the Bobbili kingdom, linked to the famous 1757 battle against the neighboring Maharaja of Vizianagaram and French forces.

Built in the Indo-Saracenic architectural style, the fort covers about 10 acres and features grand structures like the Durbar Hall, palace for the royal family, guest palace, and two temples. The complex includes elegant domes, stone elephants guarding entrances, and richly decorated interiors with tapestries, paintings, and porcelain from various countries.

The temples within the fort, particularly dedicated to the family deity Venugopala Swamy, hold deep cultural importance, with unique mandapas like the Vasant Mandapa linked to local rituals. Though the original Bobbili fort suffered destruction, the current fort preserves its regal heritage and serves as a cultural landmark, housing a museum and continuing as a royal residence. The fort remains an important historical site reflecting the resilience and architectural grandeur of its rulers.
