Bucheshvara Temple
The Bucheshvara Temple, also known as the Bucesvara Temple, is a stunning example of Hoysala architecture located in the village of Koravangala, about 10 kilometers from Hassan, Karnataka. Built in 1173 CE by a wealthy officer named Buchiraja to celebrate the coronation of Hoysala King Veera Ballala II, the temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva.
The temple features two shrines facing each other, connected by a closed mantapa (verandah). The eastern shrine houses a Shivlinga, while the western shrine contains an image of Surya, the sun god. The entrance is adorned with beautifully carved dwarapalaka statues, and the temple's interior boasts intricately carved pillars and ceilings.
