Da Parbatia is an ancient archaeological site located in Sonitpur, Assam, near Tezpur. It is home to the oldest known sculptural remains in Assam, dating back to the Gupta period (5th–6th century CE).
The site features the ruins of a temple, with a beautifully carved door frame depicting Ganga and Yamuna, the river goddesses, along with intricate floral designs. The original temple was believed to be dedicated to Lord Shiva, but during the Ahom rule, another temple was built over its ruins.
Excavations conducted by the Archaeological Survey of India in 1924 and 1989–90 revealed the sanctum sanctorum (garbhagriha) and mandapa, showcasing the Gupta-style architecture.
