The Dehradun Zoo, also known as Malsi Deer Park, is a popular wildlife sanctuary located on Mussoorie Road, about 10 kilometers from Dehradun city. Established in 1976, the zoo spans over 25 hectares and is part of the Dehradun Forest Division. It was initially set up to house spotted deer but has since expanded to include a variety of wildlife species.
The zoo is home to animals such as two-horned deer, Nilgai, leopards, emus, ostriches, crocodiles, turtles, and various bird species like parrots, peacocks, owls, and parakeets. It also features an aquarium with over 50 species of fish, a 3D theatre, and a cactus and succulent garden with around 400 varieties of cacti.
