Devgad Lighthouse
Devgad Lighthouse is a historic lighthouse located on Devgad Fort in the Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra. Built in 1915, the lighthouse serves as a navigational aid for ships entering the harbor. The lighthouse is situated on the western coastline, which is part of India's first coastal surveillance network, equipped with static radar and electro-optic sensors for real-time surveillance.
The lighthouse offers a stunning view of the Arabian Sea and the surrounding area, making it a popular spot for visitors. The fort itself is surrounded by water on three sides, giving it the nickname "Janjira Devgad".
Inside the fort, you can find a Ganesh temple, three cannons, and the bastions, which are in good condition. The lighthouse and fort are accessible by road, and there is no entry fee to visit the fort.
