Dhunda Fort
Dhunda Fort, also known as Dhundya Qilā, is an ancient hill fort situated about 106 km from Nashik in Maharashtra. It is positioned on a single hillock west of the road between Malegaon and Satana at an elevation of about 2,280 feet.
Historically, the fort was strategically important for overseeing the trade route connecting Khandesh to Nashik. Today, the fort is mostly in ruins, with only a few remnants such as old buildings and dried water cisterns remaining.
At the base of the fort is a Bhameshwar temple, and atop the fort hill are two water cisterns and a small Mahadev temple. The fort is accessible via a pathway behind the temple and can be visited within a short time, making it a peaceful spot for those interested in history and nature.
