Farah Bagh, also known as Faria Bagh, is a historical palace located in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra. Built in 1583 by the Nizam Shahi rulers, it was the centrepiece of a grand palatial complex.
The palace was designed for relaxation and comfort, featuring Indo-Islamic architecture with a blend of Persian, Arabic, and native Indian styles. The central eight-sided palace, although now in ruins, once served as a retreat for Murtaza Nizam Shah, who enjoyed playing chess in its serene gardens.
The complex also included seventy domes and forty mosques, which were said to contain the tombs of many royal favorites. Despite its current state of disrepair, Farah Bagh remains a fascinating site for visitors interested in the history and architecture of the Ahmednagar Sultanate.
