Galta Ji Temple
The Galta Ji Temple, also known as Galtaji, is an ancient Hindu pilgrimage site located about 10 kilometers from Jaipur, Rajasthan. The temple complex is nestled within a narrow crevice in the Aravalli hills and features several temples, pavilions, and sacred water tanks called kunds.
A natural spring emerges high on the hill and flows downward, filling these kunds, which are used by pilgrims for bathing and washing away their sins.
One of the most significant kunds is the Galta Kund, believed to have never dried up. The temple complex also includes temples dedicated to Lord Ram, Lord Krishna, and Lord Hanuman.
The site is known for its large population of monkeys, earning it the nickname "The Monkey Temple". The temple is a popular destination for devotees, especially during festivals like Makar Sankranti and Kartik Poornima, when thousands of pilgrims take a dip in the sacred kunds.
