Ganga Deri
Ganga Deri is a beautiful marble memorial located on the banks of Gangajaliya Talao in Bhavnagar, Gujarat. Built in 1983 by Maharaja Takhtsinhji, this monument was designed by Sir John Griffith, the principal of J.J. School of Art, Bombay. It was constructed in memory of Maharaja Takhtsinhji's wife, Maharani Rajba, who passed away in 1875 while giving birth to their heir, Bhavsinhji.
The architectural style of Ganga Deri is a blend of Mughal and Rajput styles, and it is often referred to as a mini Taj Mahal due to its elegant design. The monument features a chhatri, pavilion, and bridge, all made of white marble. The intricate floral motifs and columns are distinctive features of this two-storied structure.
