Hadsar Fort, also known as Parvatgad, is a historic hill fort located in the Junnar region of Pune district, Maharashtra. The fort stands at an elevation of approximately 3200 feet and was built during the Satavahana era to protect the ancient trade route from Mawal to Kalyan via Naneghat.
One of the unique features of Hadsar Fort is its entrance gate, which is intricately carved from a single rock. The fort also has rock-cut steps, water cisterns, and rooms for sentries, all chiseled from a single rock. At the summit, you'll find a temple dedicated to Mahadev, with stone-carved idols of Ganesh, Garuda, and Hanuman.
There are two trekking routes to reach the fort: the southern route, which is relatively easier and passes through the main gate, and the northern route, which involves rock climbing and is more challenging. The northern route offers a thrilling experience for experienced trekkers.
