Hardeol is located in the easternmost part of the Nanda Devi Sanctuary and is considered one of the major peaks in the region. The first successful ascent of Hardeol was made on May 31, 1978, by an Indo-Tibetan Border Police expedition led by S. P. Mulasi. The peak is known for its steep and challenging routes, making it a favorite among experienced mountaineers.
