Himayat Bagh
Himayat Bagh is a beautiful 17th-century garden located near Delhi Gate in the Rauza Bagh area of Aurangabad, Maharashtra. Originally known as the Mughal Garden, it was developed during the reign of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. The garden spans around 300 acres and is now part of the Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Krishi Vidyapeeth.
Himayat Bagh is known for its lush greenery, fruit research station, and nursery, which houses a variety of fruit-bearing trees. The garden also features the Barra Darri, an underground water chamber that created a natural air-conditioning system, making the area cooler. Although the system is no longer operational, it remains a marvel of engineering.
