Jamalabad Fort, also known as Narasimha Gada or Gadaikallu, is an old hilltop fortification located near Belthangady in the Dakshina Kannada district of Karnataka. It stands about 1,800 feet above sea level and is part of the Kudremukh hill range, approximately 8 kilometers north of Belthangady and 65 kilometers from Mangalore.
The fort was built in the 18th century by Tipu Sultan to protect his kingdom from British forces and is named after his mother, Jamalbee. The trek to the fort is moderately challenging, with a steep 1.5-kilometer climb through dense forests, waterfalls, and rocky terrain, offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
