Jind Fort
Jind Fort, located in Jind, Haryana, was built in 1775 by Maharaja Gajpat Singh, the Sidhu Jat Sikh ruler and founder of the Jind State. The fort was constructed on a raised mound using Lakhauri bricks and served as the capital fort until the capital later moved to Sangrur.
Historically, it was part of the Phulkian dynasty's territory, and Gajpat Singh played a key role in establishing the independent Sikh kingdom in the region during the 18th century. Today, only one corner bastion of the fort remains, as much of the original structure has collapsed. The fort holds significant historical value as the seat of regional power and reflects the architectural style and military importance of its time.
