Khonoma Tragopan Sanctuary, also known as Khonoma Nature Conservation and Tragopan Sanctuary (KNCTS), is a protected area covering around 25 square kilometers in Kohima district, Nagaland. Established in 1998 by the villagers of Khonoma to protect the endangered Blyth's tragopan, the sanctuary is notable for community-led conservation efforts that prohibit hunting and promote sustainable use of forest resources.

Located in the Japfu mountain range, the sanctuary features lush forests, perennial streams, and diverse ecosystems including Himalayan subtropical broadleaf forests and montane forests. It is home to many rare and endangered species such as the Blyth’s tragopan, clouded leopard, hoolock gibbon, and over 300 bird species, making it an important site for biodiversity conservation and bird watching.

The sanctuary reflects the strong commitment of the Angami tribe of Khonoma to wildlife protection and sustainable development, blending traditional values with modern conservation practices.
