Kodasalli Dam, located in the Yellapura taluk of Uttara Kannada district in Karnataka, is an impressive structure built across the Kali River (Kalinadi). The dam was constructed by Karnataka Power Corporation Limited and serves as a hydroelectric power station.
The Kodasalli Power House has an installed capacity of 3 x 40 MW, with three generating units consisting of vertical Kaplan turbines, synchronous generators, and transformers. The power house was commissioned in 1998-99.
In addition to generating electricity, the dam is a major source of irrigation for the surrounding rural areas, supporting crop production and other agricultural activities. The dam is situated in the picturesque Western Ghats, making it a scenic spot for visitors. The nearest major town is Karwar.
