Kuchesar Fort
Kuchesar Fort, also known as Rao Raj Vilas or Mud Fort, is an 18th-century fort located in Kuchesar village in Bulandshahr district, Uttar Pradesh, about 80 km east of Delhi. Built in 1734 by the Jat rulers of the Dalal clan, it served as the seat of the Jat Kingdom of Uttar Pradesh after receiving the title of Rao Bahadur and the jagir of Kuchesar from Mughal Emperor Shah Alam II.
The fort is surrounded by 100 acres of mango groves and features seven defensive turrets and a wide moat. After periods of conflict and change of control, it has been restored and converted into a heritage hotel, blending Mughal and British architectural influences.
It is famous as a royal wedding destination and weekend getaway near Delhi, offering luxurious suites and various leisure activities including nature walks, birdwatching, bullock cart rides, and local cultural experiences.
