Lakh Bahosi Sanctuary, located in Kannauj, Uttar Pradesh, is one of India's largest bird sanctuaries, covering an area of 80 square kilometers. Established in 1989, the sanctuary is spread across two shallow lakes near the villages of Lakh and Bahosi, which are about 4 kilometers apart.
It is a haven for birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts, hosting a diverse range of avifauna, including species from 49 genera out of the 97 found in India. The sanctuary is particularly vibrant during the winter months, from November to March, when migratory birds flock to the area.
