The Nanded Fort, also known as Nandgiri Fort, is a historic fort located about 4 kilometers from the city of Nanded, Maharashtra, on the banks of the Godavari River. Built by Muhammad bin Tughlak in 1318, the fort has a rich history and has been controlled by various dynasties, including the Bahmani Sultanate, the Mughal Empire, and the Nizam of Hyderabad.
The fort features double fortifications with a total of 24 bastions, although only eight remain in good condition today. The fort has been converted into a garden to attract tourists, and there is a water tank constructed within the fort. The fort offers beautiful views of the surrounding landscape and is a popular spot for history enthusiasts and photography lovers.
