Nandhaur Wildlife Sanctuary, situated in the Nainital district of Uttarakhand, was created in 2012 and covers approximately 270 square kilometers. Positioned between the Gola and Sharda rivers within the Haldwani forest division, it forms a critical link between India's forests and Nepal’s Shuklaphanta National Park. The sanctuary primarily consists of sal forests and features rich biodiversity, including over 230 bird species, 31 mammal species such as tigers, leopards, elephants, and sloth bears, along with various reptiles and fishes.

It is part of the Shivalik Elephant Reserve and the Terai Arc Landscape, playing a significant role in wildlife conservation and ecological connectivity. The sanctuary is accessible from nearby towns and offers activities like safaris, birdwatching, and nature trails amidst its scenic hills and forests.
