The Old Naini Bridge, located in Prayagraj (formerly Allahabad), Uttar Pradesh, is a historic double-decked steel truss bridge that spans the Yamuna River. Constructed in 1865 during British rule, it is one of the oldest and longest bridges in India. The bridge connects the city of Prayagraj to the Naini area and features a unique design with a railway line on the upper deck and a roadway on the lower deck.
The bridge has 16 towering pillars, each 62 feet high, and was a significant engineering feat of its time. It played a crucial role in connecting Howrah and Delhi via rail and road. Although a new Naini Bridge was constructed in 2004, the Old Naini Bridge remains a symbol of architectural and historical importance.
