The Ramatirtha Crocodile Project is located near Jashipur town in the Mayurbhanj district of Odisha, beneath the Similipal National Park. It is the only crocodile rearing center in the Mayurbhanj district and plays a crucial role in the conservation and breeding of mugger and estuarine crocodiles.
The project was initiated in 1975 by the Odisha state government, and over the years, it has successfully revived crocodile populations in the region.
The park is home to over 450 crocodiles and offers visitors the chance to see these magnificent reptiles up close. The park also features animal viewing zones, walking trails around the reservoir, watch towers, and an interpretation center.
