Rangaswamy Peak and Pillar is a fascinating natural formation located near Kotagiri in the Nilgiris district of Tamil Nadu. The peak stands at an elevation of 5,885 feet (1,794 meters) and is visible from the Kodanad View Point. The pillar, located on the northwest side of the peak, rises to a height of about 400 feet.
The area is considered sacred by the Irula tribe, who hold it as the home of their deity, Rangaswamy. The site hosts an annual harvest-fertility festival, known as Rangabottu, which is celebrated with great enthusiasm.
