Tourist Attraction
Roza Bal
The Roza Bal Shrine, also known as Rouza Bal or Rozabal, is located in the Khanyar quarter of downtown Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir. The name "Roza Bal" translates to "tomb place," and it is believed by some to be the burial site of Yuz Asaf, a figure associated with Jesus Christ.
This claim was popularized by the founder of the Ahmadiyya movement, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, in 1899.
The shrine is a place of reverence for both local devotees and those intrigued by the theory that Jesus survived the crucifixion and lived in Kashmir until his death. The structure consists of a low rectangular building on a raised platform, surrounded by railings and an entry. Inside, it houses the tomb of Yuz Asaf and another Muslim holy man, Mir Sayyid Naseeruddin.
