Salher Fort is actually located in Maharashtra, near the border with Gujarat, about 40 kilometers from Ahwa in the Dangs district. It is the highest fort in Maharashtra, standing at an elevation of 5,141 feet (1,567 meters). The fort is part of the Dolbari Range and is known for its historical significance, particularly the Battle of Salher in 1672, where the Marathas defeated the Mughals.

The fort offers a challenging yet rewarding trek, with beautiful views of the surrounding landscape, including the nearby Salota Fort. The trek typically takes 5 to 7 hours and involves navigating rock-cut steps and steep trails. The top of the fort features a pond and remnants of historical structures, providing a glimpse into its past.
