Measuring approximately 1492 meters in length and 7.3 meters in width, it stands 40 feet above the normal flood level of the river, ensuring smooth navigation for boats and ferries. A second bridge, known as the New Saraighat Bridge, was inaugurated in 2017 to accommodate increasing traffic demands.
