Sarwar Fort
Sarwar Fort, located about 70 kilometers from Ajmer in Rajasthan, was built by the royal Gaur dynasty of the Surwar clan, rulers of the Kishangarh state. The fort served as a strategic stronghold on a hill, designed to guard against invasions from the Kota region and played a crucial role in Rajput-Mughal conflicts.
It was historically important as a military seat for the Rathors and was reinforced with large cannons, some of which have been moved to the Ajmer museum for preservation. Besides its martial significance, Sarwar also became a center of communal harmony after the settlement of Sufi saints in the area.
Over time, much of the fort fell into decay with parts destroyed or stolen, though its historical importance and tales of battles reflect Rajasthan's rich Rajput heritage.
