The hills, also called Sundara Mahalingam, are associated with many Siddhas (holy beings) who are said to have lived and worshipped there. The trek to the top involves a moderate climb through forests, streams, and rocky terrain leading to temples, including the main Sundara Mahalingam temple. Pilgrims visit mostly during full moon and new moon days.
The area is rich in biodiversity and medicinal plants, and trekking here is both a spiritual and natural experience, with devotees often observing rituals to respect the sacred environment.
