Sri Gavi Gangadhareshwara Temple, also known as Gavipuram Cave Temple, is a historic rock-cut temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, located in Bengaluru, Karnataka. Built in the 16th century by Kempe Gowda I, the founder of Bengaluru, the temple is famous for its mysterious stone discs and precise architectural design that allows sunlight to illuminate the Shiva Linga during Makara Sankranti.
The temple features monolithic sculptures, including two granite pillars supporting massive sun and moon discs, along with four monolithic pillars representing Damaru, Trishul, and circular discs. Inside the temple, devotees worship Lord Shiva, Parvati, Vinayaka, Subramanya, and several other deities.
