The State Museum Bhopal is a treasure trove of art, culture, and history, located on Shyamla Hills in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. Originally established in 1909 as the Edward Museum, it was later renamed and relocated several times before its current building was inaugurated on November 2, 2005.
The museum boasts 17 specialized galleries that showcase a wide range of exhibits, including prehistoric artifacts, fossils, excavated materials, royal collections, textiles, coins, weapons, and rare musical instruments. Some of the highlights include a 5-headed Ganesh statue, Yakshini statues from around 200 BC, and Jain bronze articles from the 12th century.
