Tillari Dam is a significant inter-state irrigation project jointly undertaken by the governments of Maharashtra and Goa. Situated in the Dodamarg Taluka of Sindhudurg district, the dam is constructed on the Tillari River, which flows through Maharashtra and Goa. The dam plays a crucial role in providing irrigation facilities to the region, benefiting approximately 21,197 hectares of land in Maharashtra and Goa.
The dam features a gravity dam and a pick-up weir, along with canal systems that distribute water to both states. The project also includes provisions for municipal and industrial water supply, with a capacity to provide 111.465 million cubic meters of water for these purposes. Moreover, there are plans for two hydro power stations, one with a capacity of 10 MW and another with 0.2 MW.
