Tsuglakhang Monastery and Temple, also known as Tsuk La Khang, is a revered Buddhist monastery located in Gangtok, East Sikkim. Situated within the Royal Palace Complex, this monastery holds deep spiritual and historical significance, serving as the imperial gompa of the former Sikkim Royal Family.
Built in 1898 AD under the reign of Thutob Namgyal, the ninth King of Sikkim, the monastery was historically used for royal coronations, marriages, and religious ceremonies. Today, it remains a major Buddhist assembly hall, housing a vast collection of Buddhist scriptures, murals, and statues of Buddha, Bodhisattvas, and Tantric deities.
