Vivekananda House
Vivekananda House, also known as Vivekanandar Illam, is a historic landmark in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It is associated with the renowned Hindu monk Swami Vivekananda, who stayed here for nine days in 1897 after his triumphant return from the West. The house later became the center for the Ramakrishna Math in Chennai from 1897 to 1906.
Today, Vivekananda House is maintained by the Sri Ramakrishna Math, Chennai, and houses the Experience Vivekananda Museum. The museum offers a unique blend of traditional exhibits and modern technology, including Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) experiences, to showcase Indian culture, Swami Vivekananda's life, and his message.
Visitors can explore picture galleries, a meditation room, and even watch a 4D VR movie titled "Tears of Vivekananda".
