Wasif Manzil
Wasif Manzil, also known as Wasef Manzil or the New Palace, is a historical building in Murshidabad, West Bengal. Built by Nawab Wasif Ali Mirza Khan, the palace was designed under the supervision of British architect Mr. Duncan Macleod following the Nawab's return from his European tour.
Completed in 1904, the structure showcases a blend of British and Mughal architectural styles, featuring intricate stucco work, grand pillars, and elegant designs. The palace was originally used as the Nawab's residence and is located near the famous Hazarduari Palace on the banks of the Bhagirathi River.
Despite surviving a devastating earthquake, the building retains its historical charm, with remnants of statues, marbles, and a former dancing hall offering glimpses into the lavish lifestyle of the Nawabs of Bengal.
