Bhandara is a district located in the state of Maharashtra, India. It is situated in the eastern part of the state and is known for its rich cultural heritage and natural beauty. The district headquarters is also named Bhandara, which is a town situated on the banks of the Wainganga River.

Bhandara district covers an area of approximately 3,729 square kilometers and is bordered by Nagpur district to the east, Gondia district to the south, Balaghat district of Madhya Pradesh to the west, and Chandrapur district to the north. The district is predominantly rural, with agriculture being the main occupation of the people.
