Khandwa is a district located in the state of Madhya Pradesh (MP), India. It is situated in the Nimar region of the state. The district has its headquarters in the city of Khandwa, which is also known as the "Manchester of Central India" due to its prominent role in the cotton and textile industry.

Khandwa district is bordered by the districts of Burhanpur and Khargone in the west, Harda in the east, Dewas and Indore in the south, and Barwani in the southwest. The district covers an area of approximately 3,542 square kilometers and has a population of around 1.3 million people.
