Saharanpur is a district located in the state of Uttar Pradesh (UP), India. It is situated in the northern part of the state and is bordered by the states of Uttarakhand and Haryana. The district headquarters is also named Saharanpur and serves as an administrative and commercial center.

Saharanpur has a rich historical and cultural heritage. It was founded by Sah Ranbirsingh, a Jain nobleman, in the 14th century. The region has witnessed the rule of various dynasties, including the Mughals and the Marathas, before coming under British colonial rule.
