Annappa Betta
Annappa Betta, also known as Badinede Betta, is a hill located near Dharmasthala in Dakshina Kannada, Karnataka. The hill is situated about 1.5 kilometers west of the new bus stand and half a kilometer from the Shri Manjunatha temple. Annappa Betta is home to the shrine of Shri Annappa Swamy, who is considered a vassal of the Daivas (local deities).
According to local legend, when Shri Birmanna Pergade renounced his personal abode to worship Lord Shiva, the Daivas sent Shri Annappa Swamy to procure the idol of Lord Manjunatheshwara from Kadri.
The temple was subsequently built around this idol. The hill is also known for its serene environment and beautiful views.
