Bhuleshwar Temple
The Bhuleshwar Temple is an ancient Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, situated around 45 kilometers from Pune and 10 kilometers from the Pune-Solapur highway near Yawat in Maharashtra. Built in the 8th century, the temple is perched on a hill and is known for its classical carvings on the walls. It has been declared a protected monument by the Archaeological Survey of India.
The temple's architecture is classified as Deccan style, similar to Indo-Aryan architecture, and is constructed using black basalt rock, which creates a calming ambience inside the temple.
The temple premises also include the remains of the Daulatmangal Fort, built in the 17th century by Adilshahi general Murar Jagdev Pandit. The fort was constructed to keep a watch on Pune.
