The Dhurwa Dam, also known as the Hatia Dam, is located in Ranchi, Jharkhand. It was completed in 1963 with Russian assistance and is situated on the Subarnarekha River. The dam provides around 9.5 million gallons of drinking water daily to Ranchi and its surrounding areas. It also supports the proposed Ranchi Smart City project.
The dam features an earthfill structure with a height of 30 meters (98 feet) and a length of 4,525 meters (14,846 feet). The reservoir created by the dam has a total capacity of 1.37 km³ (1,110,677 acre-feet). The dam is managed by the Jharkhand Urban Infrastructure Development Company (JUIDCO).
