Ek Minar Masjid, also known as Ek Minar Mosque, is a historic mosque located in Raichur, Karnataka. The mosque is renowned for its unique architectural feature—a single minaret, which is quite unusual in Indo-Islamic architecture.
The mosque was commissioned by Malik Ambar, the Peshwa (Prime Minister) of the Ahmadnagar Sultanate, in 1513/1514 CE during the reign of Mahmud Shah Bahmani.
The minaret stands approximately 20 meters (65 feet) tall and is built in a Persian style, similar to the Chand Minar and the minarets of the Mahmud Gawan Madrasa. The mosque's prayer hall is rectangular, with a flat ceiling and a battlement parapet rising above the roof. The western wall is decorated with verses from the Quran and hadith inscribed in stone slabs.
