Korigad Fort, also known as Koarigad or Kumwarigad, is a historic hill fort located about 20 kilometers south of Lonavala in the Pune district of Maharashtra. The fort stands at an elevation of approximately 923 meters (3,028 feet) above sea level and offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
The fort was likely constructed before 1500 CE and was incorporated into the kingdom of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in 1657. It played a significant role during the Maratha and British periods. The fort features intact walls, six cannons, and several temples dedicated to Korai Devi, Vishnu, and Shiva.
The Korai Devi temple has a 3-foot-high Deepmala (tower of lamps) and can accommodate up to 25 people.
