The Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) Stadium is an international cricket venue located in Gahunje, on the outskirts of Pune, Maharashtra. It was inaugurated in 2012 and serves as the home ground for the Maharashtra cricket team as well as the Maharashtra Cricket Association headquarters. Designed by renowned architect Michael Hopkins, the stadium has a seating capacity of around 42,700 and features a Bermuda grass surface with advanced pop-up sprinklers for efficient water drainage.
The venue includes modern facilities such as floodlights for night matches and a rainwater drainage system, allowing matches to proceed quickly even after heavy rain. It hosted its first international match—a T20 between India and England—in December 2012 and has since hosted IPL games and Test matches. The pitch is generally spin-friendly, offering good turn especially in the middle overs, though it also supports batsmen with balanced conditions. The stadium is known for excellent sightlines, comfort, and well-planned infrastructure, making it a premier cricket ground in India.
