Naigaon Mayur Wildlife Sanctuary

The Naigaon Mayur Wildlife Sanctuary, also known as the Naigaon Peacock Sanctuary, is located in the Beed district of Maharashtra, about 20 kilometers from Beed city in Patoda taluka. Established in 1994 and spanning around 30 to 50 square kilometers, the sanctuary is primarily dedicated to the conservation of the Indian peafowl, which is India's national bird.

The landscape features subtropical dry deciduous forests, thorny shrubs, rolling hills, and open grasslands that provide a rich habitat for a variety of wildlife. Besides peacocks, the sanctuary is home to over 100 bird species and various mammals such as jackals, deer, wolves, wild cats, antelopes, and rabbits.
