Nehru Zoological Park is a popular zoo located near Mir Alam Tank in Bahadurpura, Hyderabad, Telangana. It was established on October 26, 1959, and opened to the public on October 6, 1963. The zoo is managed by the forest department of the Government of Telangana and is named after India's first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru.
The park covers an area of 380 acres and is home to nearly 100 species of birds, animals, and reptiles. Some of the notable animals include the Indian rhinoceros, Asiatic lion, Bengal tiger, and Indian elephant. The zoo also features a nocturnal house, aquarium, dino park, butterfly park, and tortoise house.
The Mir Alam Tank, adjacent to the zoo, attracts hundreds of migratory birds, adding to the zoo's charm.
