Rashtrapati Nilayam
Rashtrapati Nilayam is the official winter retreat of the President of India, located in Bolarum, Secunderabad, Telangana. Originally built in 1860 as the Residency House during the Nizam era, it later became the southern retreat for the President after Hyderabad’s integration into India in 1948.
The estate spans 90 acres and features 16 rooms, including a Durbar Hall, Dining Hall, and Cinema Hall. A unique aspect of the Nilayam is its kitchen tunnel, which connects the kitchen to the dining hall for efficient food service.
In March 2023, Rashtrapati Nilayam was officially opened to the public, allowing visitors to explore its thematic gardens, including the Nakshatra Garden, Rock Garden, Herbal Garden, and Fruit Orchards.
