The Ratnagiri Marine Fish Museum, also known as the Marine Aquarium & Museum, is located on Mirya Bandar Road in Ratnagiri, Maharashtra. Established in 1985 by the Marine Biological Research Station of Ratnagiri, the museum showcases a variety of marine life and artifacts.
Visitors can explore exhibits featuring rare and beautiful specimens such as sea horse fish, lion fish, trigger fish, sea turtles, eels, sea cucumbers, starfish, lobsters, and sea snakes. One of the highlights of the museum is the well-mounted skeleton of a whale, which was originally 55 feet long and weighed around 5000 kg.
The museum also has a freshwater aquarium section with colorful fish, prawns, crabs, turtles, barbs, and aquatic plants. The entry fee is INR 5 for adults and INR 3 for children, and the museum is open from 10 AM to 5 PM.
