Established in the 17th century during the Mughal era by Roshanara Begum, the second daughter of Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan, the garden was once a splendid retreat and a symbol of Mughal opulence.
Today, it stands as a serene public space offering a glimpse into the grandeur of Mughal landscaping and architecture.
The garden features lush greenery, well-maintained pathways, and remnants of Mughal architecture, including old pavilions and a white marble pavilion built in memory of Roshanara Begum. The garden is also home to a variety of plants, some of which were imported from Japan.
