The Sangam Mauli Temple, also known as Sangam Mahuli, is a sacred pilgrimage site located at the confluence of the Krishna and Venna rivers in Satara, Maharashtra. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is renowned for its beautiful Maratha-style architecture.
The temple was built in 1735 CE by Shripatrao Pant Pratinidhi and is constructed in the Hemadpant style using basalt stone. The temple features a garbhagriha (sanctum sanctorum), an antarala (vestibule), and a sabhamandap (assembly hall). The presiding deity, Lord Shiva, is represented as a lingam in the sanctum.
Visitors to the temple can admire the beautifully carved sculptures and the 60 feet tall lamp-post made from a single stone block. The temple also has a Nandi temple with an intricately carved dome at the entrance.
